Nick Tarlson has been assisting with the direction of the programs at the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute (PAOI) as its Treasurer since the early 1990s, now serving as Interim Director. He has served as the Music Director of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in San Francisco since 1994, the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Novato, California from 1987 to 1994, and as Vice President of the Metropolis of San Francisco Church Music Federation from 1987 to 1997.
His Bachelor of Arts is from Seattle University, where he completed the Honors Program. He holds the Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University and was in the first class of Master of Orthodox Studies at the GTU/PAOI.
