St. Demetrios Day Celebrations at PAOI - 2006
PAOI has a rich program of events to celebrate its Feast Day in October. On October 22, the Annual Vespers and Open House will begin at 5 p.m. Local clergy will celebrate the Vespers and present the relics of St. Demetrios the Great-martyr to the faithful for veneration. Following the Vespers, the Women's Board of the PAOI will host a reception.

On Tuesday, October 24, the PAOI will present the Annual St. Demetrios Day Lecture. This year will feature Prof. James Skedros, who will discuss "The Da Vinci Code, the Gospel of Judas, and the Early Church: Who is Telling the Truth?" James Skedros is Associate Professor of Early Christianity and Byzantine History at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts. Prof. Skedros was Assistant Professor of Orthodox Christian Studies from 1996 to 1998 at PAOI and Graduate Theological Union. He holds degrees from the University of Utah, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and his doctorate from Harvard School of Divinity.
